IT related groups are growing because people are more involved with the technology. They are more curious and tend to dig up the details of a certain technology.

            These groups encourages IT Professionals to be competitive in their field as well to other country. They also encourages young generations to be an IT people by twisting the learning venue of a four side room into a virtual classrooms or commonly called e-learning. E-learning has been a trend of today that allow you to study a course and earn a degree at your convenience.

            As technology is growing, our industry is in need with IT people because they know how to deal and manage a certain technology in an expert manner. A lot of foreign country is also in need with these people because industries, offices and even establishment are now engaging with technologies.

            Soon I’ll be one of the IT Professionals who will compete with the outside world and the organization I have joined during my college like PSITS, SITES and CCNA helps me to preserve may interest in this field.

            Having an experience during my on-job-training as a computer laboratory assistant in ACLC, Tagum City gives me an idea on the boundary of relationship in work and treatment of employee and employer.

            My employer there is good. She always checks the students and keeps her superiority and respect to her subordinates. She divides the work in an equal manner to her subordinates. She is superior because she is the boss. Almost all the commands must be followed and as an assistant I always follow. But she divides her attitude when we are working and when we are outside the school. She is different if we are in the premise but we are just like an ordinary friend outside.

             Industries are engaging with technologies and there are some people misused these technologies for their self-interest. I agree that installing a “Hidden Camera” in a work place, establishments and offices because it would be a great help to the employer to monitor his/her employee in that way they know whose doing his/her jobs and to avoid anomaly that will occur because it will happen anywhere and anytime or the premise because it helps to monitor the security of their customer.

            On the other hand, hidden camera is more likely a wiretapping that violates the right of privacy of every individual. But let’s just see the positive side of this device because it gives us security that nothing will happen when we go outside like in the malls. It’s a security measure to prevent crime and troubles. I’m more on positive side because the usage of this device on my mind is clear and good.

        For me, outsourcing is more practical because we can save money, time and effort. It’s the best choice to the country or people that can afford to it. For example in US, most American that engages in business and different transactions don’t have time to encode their papers. They are going to outsource the job because they could save their time, money and effort. They will be saving time because instead they are going to type or do the task they outsource it so that someone will to the task for them. Most businessmen in America don’t have time to type because time is money for them. They can do more transactions if the task is lesser. They can save money because they are not going to pay to a standard salary of an American. They will not hire an encoder to do the task. The standard salary in America is big so they can’t afford to waste or lose money. They can save their effort because instead of doing the task they can focus on their main job.

        We have probably heard more than a dozen of times that freedom of expression is given to every individual to engage and participate in a larger society. Freedom of expression is both written and oral in which an individual has the rights to express his/her emotions, ideas, or his/her sentiments. Having this opportunity to express ourselves it is also one way of exercising our rights. To be able to exercise freedom of expression in a right way, one must know his/her right and the law of the country that serves as guidelines to the people. I do believe with this saying “ignorance of the law excuses no one” that one must know his/her rights to be able to know where he/she stands. It is also very important to know and be aware with the law because it is imposed to know your limits to when, where, and how to use this freedom of expression. Everything has its own limitation for public safety, to prevent disorder and crimes, to protect health and moral as well as to protect the reputations and the rights of others.

            Freedom of expression is also one way of telling the truth and your innermost feelings. To exercise this right one must also consider the consequences that will occur and sensible to the feelings of others. As long as you know your right and you’re not using someone for your own self-interest. Used this freedom in a civilized and fair manner where you don’t violate other’s rights.

    This controversy has been a talk of the country because powerful people are involved. These people are PGMA and “Mr. Hello Garci” the chairman of the COMELEC. In my opinion, it is a violation of privacy somehow because it violates the personal life of an individual. On the other side, it is normal in the world of politics that politician are getting envy with their rivals that’s why they investigate to seek for any anomaly or weakness to use them against their opponents. But the question is, why does these people wire tap the conversation of PGMA and Garci? Is it they suspected that there is an anomaly going between the two of them? Honestly, I myself don’t know the law of wire tapping. But I have the idea of the limitations of wire tapping. It must only be used for police or military operations for this would be a helped to know the plane of terrorists and anti-government or to gather information in a right way. Were tapping is wrong if it is only used to destroy someone’s reputation or credibility.

If I were given the chance to make guidelines and rules for internet usage, I will implement the following:

1. Orientation for guidelines in using the internet.
2. Children use the internet with guidance.
3. Bloody site is Band.
4. No hacking and cracking.
5. Limited Programs must be installed.
6. No one can install any software.
7. No hacking tools must be setup.
8. Band pornography.
9. After using, erase any files and documents that have been used.
10. Be responsible for your actions.
11. Be educated or professional where you the right from wrong.

Throughout life I have found that there are three types of people in the world. The three types of people are the people who question everything, the people who question some things and the people who accept everything that are told to them.

Do I consider myself as an IT Professional? It is just one of the few questions I am trying to answer since I’ve graduated last March 2007. Having the diplomas in my hand and with the knowledge I have in my head is not enough for me to say that I am proud to be called as an IT Professional.

            At some point in my college days, I am one of those students who are just relying to what the professors feed to us. Actually, I have a hard time to weigh things with regards to my studies and personal life. I forgot to prepare myself when I was about to go out in my Beloved Alma Mater and realize that I have built a weak foundation for my upcoming profession. Though I am not that irresponsible, still I haven’t proved to myself and to anyone that I am a competitive in my field. Personally, my knowledge and experiences I’ve earned for four years studying is not enough to be a potential IT Professional. It seems there is something lacking. But I’ve come to realize that it is not too late for me to pursue my dreams to become one of the most competitive IT Professional in my generation. I feel that these goals are very reachable and that I will be able to measure and visualize if I am reaching my goals.

In this kind of profession, one must possess a great understanding of what he is doing as well as on what he is dealing with. An IT Professional must have a deep understanding and familiarity in all aspects in this field. He must be a critical thinker because being able to take a topic and critically think about it is an important skill. Being able to look at the situation and critically evaluate the problem and make a solution. Creativity is also a factor that has a lot of people searching for good workers in this field. I feel that you need creativity to be able to provide something in your society. Another key skill in this field is the ability to orally explain what your goal and visions are and being able to describe your ideas to another person. One must believe in this saying “An educated person is a lifelong learner who has found ways to continue to learn and grow after the end of formal schooling" because in this profession it is a never ending learning because we are dealing technologies and technologies are innovating. More likely, he is ready to go out to his cocoon and to compete with other people in this field.

            In this point of time, the word responsible means a lot to me, being responsible for your actions and to your priorities in life. Taking now a Masters Degree is a good start for me. Reaching my goals is not easy for me but I trust myself that five years from now I can be proud to be called as an IT Professional.
